Description
Childcare Teachers are responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment where young children can grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and academically.
Key Responsibilities
*Create a loving, secure, and engaging classroom environment grounded in biblical principles
*Teach age-appropriate lessons that support early childhood development and introduce foundational Christian truths
*Integrate prayer, Bible stories, worship songs, and Christian values into daily routines and activities
*Supervise and care for children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being
*Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
*Maintain classroom order, cleanliness, and organization
*Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents/guardians regarding children’s progress and needs
*Observe and document children’s growth and development as required
*Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and leadership to support program goals
*Follow all childcare policies, regulations, and health and safety procedures
*Serve as a positive Christian role model through words, actions, and attitudes
Requirements
*A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission and beliefs of Blessed Savior childcare program
*Experience working with young children (formal education or childcare setting preferred)
*Basic understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices
*Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
*Ability to work collaboratively as part of a ministry-focused team
*CPR/First Aid certification (required)
*Background check clearance as required by state and organizational policies
*Ability to lift and carry children (up to required weight limits)
*Ability to sit, stand, bend, and engage in active play throughout the day
