J.M. Grimstad is an employee-owned, single-source fluid power distributor and control systems provider who designs, develops and tests our systems to meet your exacting needs and specifications. The carefully chosen supplier partners we work with enable us to turn standard components into customized solutions. We are experts in designing systems that make machines and mobile equipment push, pull, lift and lower.
With 80+ years of fluid power experience, chances are we’ve tackled application challenges just like yours but we still welcome and get excited by new challenges. That’s when we rely heavily on an average-tenured staff of 17+ years who know what questions to ask to deliver your intended results.

Company History
1934 - James M. Grimstad founded a sole proprietorship as a fluid power manufacturer’s representative
1960 – The company became a distributor
1992 – In-house HPU manufacturing
1993 – In-house control panel manufacturing
2001 – In-house manifold design begins
2005 – Manufacturing contributes 19% of sales
2006 – New Muskego facility
2013 – Manufacturing contributes 45% of sales
2018 – Office expansion to 2nd level
1988 – Employee Stock Ownership Plan created
1995 – First significant purchase of stock by ESOP
2004 – ESOP becomes sole shareholder -Employee Stock Ownership Plan
