Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
IDC’s Student Program provides hands-on experience for students interested in manufacturing, engineering, quality, and skilled trades. Students will rotate through multiple departments to gain exposure to real-world manufacturing operations, teamwork, and industry processes within a fast-paced defense manufacturing environment.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBITIES:
Assist team members with daily production and operational tasks
Learn and follow IDC safety and quality standards
Rotate through departments including:
Quality
Assembly
Machining
Turning
Finishing/Deburring
One Degree Room
Secondary Operations
Support inspections, documentation, organization, and general shop activities
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow instructions from supervisors, trainers, and mentors
Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and willingness to learn
Participate in team meetings and training opportunities
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High school student, technical college student, or recent graduate
Interest in manufacturing, engineering, quality, or skilled trades preferred
Strong attendance and reliability
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer and communication skills preferred
Must be 16 or older
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Ability to safely work in a manufacturing environment
Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
